Andrew Saul is an experienced intellectual property litigator who represents clients in complex patent and other IP disputes. He has substantial experience litigating patent cases in U.S. District Courts, before the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Andrew counsels clients on litigation risk and strategy and represents them through discovery, trial, appeal, licensing negotiations, and settlement.

Andrew has represented companies and individuals in high-stakes patent cases involving a wide range of technologies. His trial experience includes defending a consumer technology company in the District of Delaware, where the jury returned a complete defense verdict of non-infringement and invalidity of all asserted patent claims. He also successfully argued a motion for judgment as a matter of law of non-infringement during a patent trial in the Eastern District of Texas involving Wi-Fi standards. His appellate experience includes representing a marine engine manufacturer before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where he obtained vacatur of a Patent Trial and Appeal Board decision invalidating the client’s patent claims.

With a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Andrew brings a technical background to disputes involving semiconductors, computer hardware and software, wireless communications, data encryption, image processing, mechanical systems, and other complex technologies. He works closely with clients, technical experts, and business teams to understand the technology and commercial objectives behind a dispute and to develop practical strategies tailored to both.

Before joining Lee & Hayes, Andrew practiced for a decade at an AmLaw 100 firm, where he focused on intellectual property litigation and counseling. Prior to law school, he worked as a technology consultant performing software development and data analysis for U.S. and international telecommunications companies.
