John is a patent attorney, partner, and Patent Group Lead at Lee & Hayes in the firm’s Spokane, Washington office.  John focuses his practice on improvements in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering, and business methods. He also advises clients with inventions in the mechanical, chemical, and plant-based fields.  With over a decade of experience prosecuting patent applications in art groups known for patent-eligibility challenges, John specializes in crafting patent applications designed to overcome Alice-based rejections.

John is also one of our Patent Group Leads at Lee & Hayes, focusing on asset quality and work product timeliness.  John’s emphasis for his group is to strive for ever-increasing quality by utilizing dynamic marketplace data, drafting tools, data modeling, and honed best practices.  By so doing, John and his team are called upon to partner with and manage patent portfolios for many of our clients, including several Fortune 500 companies.
