With over 15 years of experience and a background in electrical engineering, law, and business, Tyson brings a multidisciplinary and pragmatic perspective to technology development, deal-making, and startup growth.
His practice spans both the corporate and IP sides, including software licensing, AI, confidentiality and data privacy agreements, commercial contracts, and intellectual property strategy. While Tyson has deep experience in the patent space, he also advises on broader IP matters such as trade secrets, copyright, trademarks, and technology transactions.
As a business founder, Tyson brings a growth-oriented mindset to legal strategy—particularly for early and mid-stage companies scaling in complex and fast-moving environments. He helps clients structure deals that align with long-term goals, mitigate risk, and unlock value.
Tyson has partnered with companies ranging from startups to Fortune 50 giants, including several early-stage ventures that were later acquired for over $1 billion—where strong IP and commercial strategies played a key role. He was also honored to be part of a firm ranked #1 by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Magazine for four consecutive years for securing the highest-quality patents.

Tyson earned a Juris Doctor with cum laude distinction from Franklin Pierce Law Center and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University. He is currently pursing an Executive Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University. Tyson is admitted to practice in the states of Washington and Virginia as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
