George chairs the firm’s Corporate Practice Group, with a focus on emerging growth and mid-stage startups. He helps companies and their founders navigate from formation and initial financing through early-stage legal compliance, investor relations, contracts and commercial transactions, and on to scale-up and exit. George has extensive experience in finance, securities, corporate governance, IP, employment issues, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions. 

George helps his clients secure data and IP rights, including trademark and copyright registrations as well as protecting and leveraging intellectual property portfolios in the US and throughout the world. He helps businesses create and execute policies and procedures for trade secret protection, confidentiality, data privacy and security. George has negotiated and closed hundreds of complex commercial software licenses with some of the world’s biggest and most well-known brands.

George has represented numerous clients in entertainment fields of music, video games, film and publishing, including well-respected developers, artists, labels, studios, directors and authors. In addition to his legal career, he has founded and operated companies in tech/telecom, retail, education, commercial real estate, and the music industry. His unique background gives perspective beyond the surface legal issues to understand the underlying needs and objectives that drive his clients’ businesses.

George is a sought-after presenter on a variety of legal and business topics and is an adjunct professor at Gonzaga School of Law where he teaches courses in Entertainment Law, IP Transactions and Licensing. He also serves and has served on a number of boards of directors. George is an avid musician and enjoys sports and studying languages.
