With over a dozen years of broad-based intellectual property and commercial law experience, Rob is a recognized expert in patent preparation and prosecution, trademark registration, and preparation of agreements relating to all forms of intellectual property, with particular expertise in software licenses.

As the senior in-house IP counsel for two multi-billion dollar divisions of a leading multinational corporation, Rob worked with business leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that included risk management, value optimization, and tactical market positioning. He has special expertise in drafting and negotiating complex domestic and international commercial agreements, and integrates seamlessly with experts in other legal disciplines to ensure his clients’ IP objectives are consistent with broader business objectives.

An outside-the-box thinker who developed his work ethic and honed his communication skills aboard the U.S. Navy’s premier nuclear submarines, Rob thrives in a fast-paced environment where the stakes are high and margin for error is slim. Above all, he values partnering with clients to devise winning solutions.

Rob is married to Rebecca Smith Madayag and has three children, Catherine, Robert, and Maximilian. During fall, Rob spends his time on Saturdays volunteering as an announcer for the Cobb Youth Football League.
