Janina Malone

With more than 20 years of experience, Janina Malone provides the drafting and prosecution of patent applications to clients and companies in the life science industries. Janina’s background and areas of expertise are interdisciplinary and include genetics, bioengineering, bioinformatics, data analytics, molecular and cell biology, immunology, 3D imaging, targeted delivery systems, computer technology, medical devices, mechanical devices, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals.

As a result of her cross-disciplinary experience, Janina assists clients in portfolio development through identification of possible avenues of further development and has also prepared legal opinions including patentability, inventorship, and freedom to operate.

Janina is active in the Portland, Oregon biotech and startup communities and can be found at various invent-a-thons around town.  When she’s not working, Janina spends her weekends hiking the Oregon Coast Trail with her family.
