Mike Merkelbach is a highly accomplished and dedicated attorney in the patent practice group with an exceptional track record in the field of intellectual property. With a keen understanding of the intricate nuances of patent law, Mike has become a trusted advisor to numerous clients seeking to protect and enforce their innovative ideas.

As an attorney, Mike’s primary focus is on assisting clients in securing and protecting their intellectual property rights. He works closely with inventors, startups, and established companies to conduct comprehensive draft high-quality patent applications, and navigate the complex patent prosecution process. Mike’s attention to detail, strategic thinking, and ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner have consistently resulted in successful patent grants for his clients.

Over the years, he has honed his skills and developed an extensive knowledge base in various industry sectors, including electronics, software, and mechanical engineering. Prior to attending law school, Mike served in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Machinist’s Mate for eleven years. He had the opportunity to operate both submarine and surface ship nuclear power plants while in the Navy giving him a unique perspective and insight to efficiently prosecute applications in these technology fields.      

Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, playing guitar, spending time with his family and friends, and watching as many Dodger games as he can.
