IT Systems Administrator- Spokane, Washington

The Systems Administrator will manage the firm's systems, networks and processes under the direction of the Director of IT.  They are responsible for daily administration, planning, installation, maintenance and support of all systems related to technology. They will exercise independent judgment and discretion in the performance of daily activities. The Systems Administrator is required to work with other IT members and end-users to enrich the customer experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day availability and uptime of all core firm systems.
  • Plan and implement major modifications to the corporate infrastructure in coordination with the Director of IT.
  • Oversee the maintenance and implementation of appropriate network security measures, technologies, and policies.
  • Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products
  • Maintain the firm’s anti-virus and security platforms to ensure servers and computers are protected from all forms malicious software and security intrusions.
  • Install, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot routers, gateways, firewalls, and other networking infrastructure components.
  • Anticipate future technology needs for continued growth and success of the firm, identify proactive solutions, and research and identify new products to improve business efficiency.
  • Perform systems engineering tasks and activities that are concentrated on major systems design, integration, implementation, operations support, and training.
  • Provide input to policy level discussions regarding networking and security standards
  • Assist with the development of and updates to the firm’s disaster recovery plan.
  • Provide routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (incl. power, battery backup, and ISP circuits)
  • Cross-train and provide troubleshooting procedures for helpdesk personnel for first tier networking issues

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years in a system administrator role.
  • Must have experience building and managing Microsoft Server physical and Hyper-V environments.
  • Must have experience building and managing VMware ESX and vCenter environments.
  • Proven experience building and managing Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler environments and or other virtual desktop technologies.
  • Experience managing Hyperconverged infrastructure ie. HPE Simplivity, Nutanix, VSAN etc.
  • Experience managing public cloud environment ie. Microsoft Azure, Office365, Amazon AWS, Rackspace etc.
  • Proven experience and success with LAN and WAN configuration management and administration.
  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm environment preferred.
  • High degree of technical proficiency with excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new systems, processes and procedures
  • Maintain a positive, courteous and professional service first demeanor.
