Yanek’s practice includes conducting intellectual property harvesting sessions, reporting on budgets and patent portfolios, counseling open source software integrations and release decisions and audits, as well as drafting non-infringement and patentability opinions. He leads intellectual property due diligence for various businesses including financing rounds and exits, set up trade secret inventory and protection operations, and negotiating IP-related provisions in contracts.

Yanek drafts, prosecutes, and manages domestic and international patent applications in a variety of technology spaces including AI/machine-learning, signal processing, cloud/edge computing, computer security, bioinformatics, blockchain, autonomous vehicles, and electromagnetic applications. In addition, Yanek provides litigation support primarily through patent analysis, claim-charting, and memorandum and brief drafting. Yanek regularly provides trainings on IP-related issues to his clients’ organizations.

Yanek enjoys functional fitness training, getting outside, and mentoring high school students in his spare time.
