Damon advises clients on domestic and foreign patent strategies and assists his clients in acquiring valuable intellectual property. At Lee & Hayes, Damon leads a multi-office team of attorneys, agents, and staff to provide legal services to a number of different clients. He has extensive experience in preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications across a wide variety of technologies and industries including mechanical devices, aviation, automotive, software, business processes, telecommunications, and electronics. He provides counseling on IP strategies such as by providing portfolio analysis and assisting clients in leveraging intellectual property assets. Damon has developed deep institutional knowledge which he uses to benefit clients during new and ongoing projects.

Damon has worked with clients ranging from large multinational to individual inventors and startups. While he spends a sizable portion of his time working with fortune 500 companies, he also enjoys working with individual inventors and small companies and helping them address their unique challenges related to intellectual property.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Damon worked at the corporate headquarters of Best Buy Co., where he managed the creation of a labor management system that integrated industrial engineering and software coding to create a labor allocation model. Additionally, he has work experience in mechanical design at Motorola and engineering research and development experience at a small medical device company.

Outside of the office, Damon is an outdoor enthusiast that enjoys rock climbing, mountaineering, and cycling. He enjoys these and other activities with his wife and two boys. He is also active in environmental conservation.
