Rusty is a partner in the firm and leads the International Practice Group. He offers extensive business and legal expertise in international portfolio, strategic planning, development, and management. This expertise is supported by Rusty’s hands-on technical experience gained while operating and repairing naval nuclear power plants, leading explosive ordinance disposal teams, and evaluating wide area wireless networks.
His broad technical experience is illustrated by the prosecution of patents involving audio and video digital signal processing, atomic force microscopy, bioinformatics, bioelectric sensors, business method patents, data encryption and storage devices, DVD players, electronic control systems, electric circuits, electric locks, engine controls, LED lasers, mechanical devices, medical devices (blood pressure measurement and associated signal processing), memory circuits, plasma displays, semiconductors, and software inventions. Rusty has also lectured, and been a speaker at multiple programs on technical and patent practices.
Rusty is a former Intellectual Property Portfolio Manager, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel and a retired Captain (O6) in the US Navy.
