Paul is a member of the firm's technology transactions and IP licensing practice. He represents clients in industries including consumer and business software, healthcare technology, wireless content and applications, and e-commerce.
His experience includes counseling and representing clients regarding software development and licensing, intellectual property strategy, strategic alliances, application service provider agreements, sales contracting, software and hardware reseller agreements, marketing and trademark matters. He has negotiated numerous multi-million dollar system agreements for software licenses, hardware acquisitions and implementation and consulting services; represented clients in business service outsourcing agreements, and has overseen a variety of software development and service outsourcing agreements between U.S. and India-based software developers and service providers. As a former litigator, Paul has represented clients in commercial contract disputes as the lead attorney in mediation, arbitration, and trial and appellate courts.
Paul has previously served as in-house counsel at IDX Systems Corporation, a healthcare technology company, and as a member of the technology and IP department at Seattle-based Preston Gates & Ellis. Before attending law school, he owned and operated his own outdoor recreation business.
