Mary leads the firm's technology transactions and IP licensing practice. She has more than 15 years of IP transactional experience, representing clients in such industries as consumer and business software development and publishing, web services, e-commerce, telecommunications, mobile applications and content, networking technologies, biomedical devices, alternative energy technologies, and entertainment.
Her practice focuses on drafting and negotiating technology development and commercialization deals, IP licenses, marketing and other promotional arrangements, other agreements that enable clients to build, combine and commercialize their IP and other assets. She also counsels clients on strategies and legal concerns regarding their technology and IP development, acquisition, and exploitation efforts. She has extensive experience in creating and managing high-volume licensing programs, performing IP due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, and negotiating joint ventures and other strategic alliances.
Prior to joining Lee & Hayes, she was partner at the Seattle-based law firm of Preston Gates & Ellis. Before attending law school, she worked at a variety of international financial institutions including the World Bank and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Mary has been selected as a Super Lawyer by Washington Law & Politics magazine each year since 2005.
