Spokane, Wash. – March 19, 2015 – On Wednesday, March 18, 2015, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued an opinion upholding an injunction issued in OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. v. West Worldwide Services, Inc.
In the lawsuit, OTR alleges that West Worldwide improperly copied a unique tread design for tires used on aerial work platforms, and improperly accessed trade secrets associated with manufacture of the tire. OTR is represented by Lee & Hayes litigation partners Leslie R. Weatherhead, J. Christopher Lynch and Geana M. Van Dessel, as well as Rhett V. Barney, an associate with the firm.
“We are pleased that our litigation team has been able to assist OTR in protecting its valuable trade dress rights,” Weatherhead said. “America maintains its place as the global leader in innovation because it has laws that protect intellectual property and a judicial system that is willing and able to enforce them.”
