DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the day-to-day availability and uptime of all core firm systems.
  • Provide second level support to the helpdesk and deskside support team.
  • Identify areas of automation, efficiency, and process improvements for helpdesk and deskside support.
  • Work with the staff and lawyers to ensure they understand how to use the technology tools available to them, to enable them to realize the highest level of productivity.
  • Assist with the maintenance and implementation of appropriate network security measures, technologies, and policies.
  • Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products
  • Assists with maintaining the firm’s anti-virus and security platforms to ensure servers and computers are protected from all forms malicious software and security intrusions.
  • Install, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot routers, gateways, firewalls, and other networking infrastructure components.
  • Identify technology needs for continued growth and success of the firm, identify proactive solutions, and research and identify new products to improve business efficiency.
  • Perform systems engineering tasks and activities that are concentrated on major systems design, integration, implementation, operations support, and training.
  • Provide input to policy level discussions regarding networking and security standards
  • Assist with the testing and execution of the firm’s disaster recovery plan.
  • Provide routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (incl. power, battery backup, and ISP circuits)
  • Assist with the creation of system documentation and training materials.
  • Cross-train and provide troubleshooting procedures for helpdesk and deskside personnel for first tier networking issues.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a positive, courteous, and professional service first demeanor.
  • 2-5 years of experience managing Microsoft Server physical and virtual environments.
  • Experience managing public cloud environment i.e. Office365, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Rackspace etc.
  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm environment.
  • High degree of technical proficiency with excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience training coworkers and staff on desk-side technology.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new systems, processes, and procedures
